Eala, Williams whip foes

Alex Eala and Venus Williams won their first game together in the Bad Homburg Open in Germany after a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Alexandra Osborne of Australia and Catherine Harrison of the United States on Thursday (Manila time).

Eala and Williams pulled off the sweep in only 70 minutes as they aim for a title in this prestigious Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) 500 tournament.

The Filipino-American duo are set to face No. 2 seed Tereza Mihalikova of Slovakia and home bet Olivia Nicholis at 5 p.m.
