Man arrested over bomb joke

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — A 28-year-old air conditioning technician was arrested after jokingly telling a mall security guard that he was carrying a bomb inside his backpack on Tuesday afternoon in Barangay 31.

Police said the suspect, a resident of Balingasag, Misamis Oriental, made the remark when asked to inspect his bag, prompting immediate security response and a bomb sweep by authorities. The bag was later found to contain repair tools and air-conditioning accessories.
