This time, there will be no dilly-dallying for Quentin Millora-Brown.

After suffering stinging losses to New Zealand and Australia, the Filipino-American big man declared his commitment to suit up when Gilas Pilipinas wages revenge in the third window of the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup Asian Qualifiers in July.

Millora-Brown told DAILY TRIBUNE that for as long as he is healthy and gets the clearance from his Japan B. League Club Chiba Jets, he will be ready to don the Gilas jersey anew to help the Filipinos make a return to the prestigious 32-nation tourney for the fourth straight time.

“I mean I just wanted to play. I just let my people handle the contract stuff and I have to make sure I’m protected,” said Millora-Brown, who finished with 11 points and seven rebounds in Gilas’ 66-93 loss to Australia at the Mall of Asia Arena last Sunday.

“There’s health insurance and all those things that you need to make sure are in place, so I just let my people take care of those things and then once I got them all good I was ready to go.”

Prior to facing the Tall Blacks and the Boomers, Quentin-Millora had been the subject of controversy after his agent came out with a statement, saying that the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas had put him in a “take-it-or-leave-it” position. It didn’t sit well with the federation, putting his stint with the national team in serious trouble.

Fortunately for him, the federation ironed out the kinks after it reached out to his father. With that, Millora-Brown was able to suit up, posting solid numbers of 8.3 points and eight rebounds in his two games for the national squad.
