Read between the lines.

Floyd Mayweather is coming out of retirement from professional boxing later in the year.

To get warmed up for his much-awaited comeback, Mayweather will do an exhibition in late-April against Mike Tyson.

Mayweather, 50, didn’t identify who’s the opponent when he boxes professionally again but that could very well be someone he has fought, someone who’s guaranteed to draw big numbers.

Meanwhile, Manny Pacquiao remains ranked in the world even after losing a bid to become a world champion at age 46 last July in Las Vegas.

He, too, is doing an exhibition in April.

When they fought in May 2025, their matchup generated upwards of $500 million in revenue, leaving Mayweather with earnings of $240 million and Pacquiao between $120 million to $125 million.

To this day, it holds the record in pay-per-view sales with 4.6 million views amounting to $400 million.

The gate also posted sales of $72 million.

Mayweather’s last pro bout took place in August 2017 when he stopped mix-martial arts star Conor McGregor.

Pacquiao, 47, nearly beat Mario Barrios in their World Boxing Council welterweight title clash at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas seven months ago.

Asked about Mayweather’s decision to make a comeback, Pacquiao had a short but sweet answer.

“Good for us,” said the Filipino southpaw.
