The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has elevated its operational readiness for the upcoming EDSA commemoration and the third Trillion Peso March to ensure the safe and orderly conduct of activities across Metro Manila.
Drawing from experiences in the past three years, the NCRPO noted that EDSA People Power–related activities were generally peaceful. These assessments served as a reference in refining current security plans, focusing on prevention, visibility and timely response to ensure the smooth flow of events.
A total of 13,448 personnel will be strategically deployed in identified convergence areas, major thoroughfares, transport hubs and other key locations across Metro Manila. This includes 1,500 augmentation personnel from Police Regional Office 3 and 1,500 from Police Regional Office 4A to reinforce NCRPO forces.
Civil Disturbance Management units, mobile patrol teams, intelligence operatives and force multipliers will augment police presence to maintain public order, ensure operational scalability and enhance visibility throughout the operational period.
As part of proactive preparations, the NCRPO intensified security measures and implemented early interventions, including visitation dialogues with barangay officials, local leaders and other stakeholders to promote cooperation and prevent potential disruptions.
The NCRPO will be placed on full alert status beginning 21 February at 5 p.m., with skeletal deployment set to commence on 22 February, particularly in areas where initial activities are expected.
The NCRPO has also directed all station commanders to intensify coordination with local government units and partner agencies, closely monitor developments and ensure contingency measures are in place.
Personnel were reminded to observe maximum tolerance, exercise restraint and uphold professionalism at all times.
