The Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) confirmed that the wife of a former Balibago Barangay Captain was found buried inside the Mamac family compound in Angeles City, Pampanga, on 16 February.

The body of Tess Mamac was recovered during an excavation in the compound, about six feet deep, near the house of the family’s driver, "Doc Manuel."

Angeles City Mayor Jon Lazatin, CD Col. Villarosa, personnel from the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO), and Barangay Captain PG Ponce were present at the site.

Tess was the wife of former Balibago Barangay Captain Tony Mamac, who was reported missing earlier. Her disappearance prompted police to conduct search operations.

During the search, Pampanga 1st District Representative Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. offered a P200,000 reward for information leading to her whereabouts.

The police identified "Doc Manuel," the family’s driver for nearly 20 years, as the person of interest. His current whereabouts remain unknown.

Authorities have yet to release the official cause of death, pending autopsy and formal identification. The investigation is ongoing as police work to determine the circumstances surrounding Tess Mamac’s death and locate the missing suspect.

Congressman Lazatin expressed his condolences to the Mamac family.

“Tess Mamac was an important pillar of support for Barangay Balibago in her role as wife of its long-time Barangay Captain,” he said.

“I strongly condemn her unjust killing and am offering a P200,000 reward, out of my own pocket, to anyone who can provide information on the perpetrator of this crime,” he added.

“There is no room for such a heinous crime in a moral, civilized society. I pray that the perpetrator will be swiftly brought to justice.”
