Smartphone brand vivo is spotlighting long-distance photography with the launch of the vivo X300 Pro, equipped with a 200MP ZEISS APO Telephoto Camera designed to capture distant landscapes and night cityscapes with sharper detail.

The company said the device addresses a common photography challenge: loss of clarity when shooting from afar. With improved mobile imaging, vivo claims users can retain texture and depth even at long range.

Makati-based photographer Nash Hadjula tested the device in Antipolo, Rizal, capturing mountain scenery that appeared muted to the naked eye.

“What impressed me most was how much detail I could pull from a scene that looked far away,” Hadjula said. “It allowed me to capture the mood and layers of the environment without needing to get physically closer.”

Low-light performance was also tested by photographer June Sarahina, who shot a condominium skyline and fireworks display at night. Structures that appeared as silhouettes showed visible balcony lines and window patterns through the device.

“Night scenes are tricky because highlights can easily blow out,” Sarahina said. “I was surprised at how the details in the buildings stayed intact even with bright light sources in the frame.”

The vivo X300 Pro retails for P77,999 at vivo concept stores and online via the vivo e-store, Lazada and Shopee. It is also available through Globe’s All-New GPlan Plus 1799 with a free vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Kit.
