Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page is poised to headline a brand-new theatrical reimagining of The Great Gatsby, stepping into the polished shoes of Jay Gatsby. The production will not only feature Page in the iconic role but will also see him serving behind the scenes as a producer.

The adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel is being crafted for the stage by playwright Joel Horwood and director Maria Aberg. While plans are underway for a 2027 run, a theater has yet to be announced.

For Page, the project marks a significant return to his theatrical roots. The actor has not appeared on stage since performing in The Merchant of Venice at Shakespeare’s Globe in 2015.

Overseeing the new production is Michael Longhurst, former artistic director of the Donmar Warehouse. The collaboration reunites Longhurst and Page more than a decade after they worked together on The History Boys at Sheffield Crucible in 2013.
