Globe Telecom intensified its child online protection efforts ahead of Safer Internet Day 2026, addressing the rising risks of online sexual abuse and exploitation of children (OSAEC) and child sexual abuse and exploitation material (CSAEM) in the Philippines.

Aligned with this year’s Safer Internet Day theme, “Ako, Ikaw, Tayo: Konektado at Protektado Laban sa OSAEC at CSAEM,” Globe combines network security measures with education initiatives to create safer online spaces for children and families.

Through its Digital Thumbprint Program (DTP), the company reached more than 16,560 students and educators in 2025 with workshops on digital citizenship, privacy, and child protection. Since 2016, DTP has engaged nearly 2 million Filipino students nationwide.

Globe also strengthened its digital defenses, blocking 967 million scam and spam messages, taking down 17,384 malicious domains—including 8,704 illegal gambling sites—and disabling 272,746 SIMs via its StopSpam portal in 2025. Child protection efforts included blocking 3,096 domains linked to child exploitation, supported by a US$2.7 million investment in advanced content-filtering technologies.

In addition, Globe supports the MAKABATA 1383 helpline, operated by the Council for the Welfare of Children, to improve reporting of online abuse and child rights violations. These initiatives are part of Globe’s #MakeITSafe advocacy, which integrates education and security to reduce digital threats and promote safe online experiences for children.

Globe Telecom is a leading digital platform in the Philippines, delivering telecommunications, fintech, digital marketing, and managed services. The company is publicly listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange under the symbol GLO and is a UN Global Compact participant. Its principals include Ayala Corporation and Singtel.
