Former Senator Cynthia Villar releases a statement addressing the viral altercation with security personnel of BF Resort Village in Las Piñas City Tuesday afternoon.
In the viral video, Villar was seen shouting at the personnel about changes in traffic rules around the village, specifically in front of her home.
“The incident arose after a “No U-Turn” signage and bollards were installed in front of the house of Former Senator Cynthia A. Villar without prior notice or consultation and upon order of the ILLEGAL BF Resort Village Homeowners Association officers,” the statement read.
“No official documentation or authorization from the legitimate Homeowners’ Association (HOA) was presented to justify the installation of the signage,” it continued.
According to Villar, the current HOA board involved was previously declared illegal by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the Human Settlement Adjudication Commission after several issues and added that any actions and decisions by the group lack “proper authority.”
The action then caused traffic congestion in the said area, affecting residents and motorists while safety concerns and property damage also arose from the situation.
Villar highlighted that residents should be informed and consulted on matters concerning access, traffic flow and daily mobility within the community and called for transparency, due process and respect for lawful procedures to avoid similar incidents further.
