A 43-year-old man was arrested during a buy-bust operation against illegal firearms early Wednesday morning, 11 February, along Reposar Street, Barangay Upper Bicutan, Taguig City.
The operation led to the confiscation of an unlicensed caliber .45 pistol and the immediate arrest of the suspect.
The suspect, identified by the alias Elmer, sold one silver caliber .45 pistol with a defaced serial number to an undercover operative.
Police also seized one magazine for a caliber .45 pistol, one genuine P1,000 bill used as marked money placed over boodle money, and one brown paper bag used to transport the firearm.
Initial custodial debriefing showed that the suspect has previous arrests for homicide and theft. Authorities are verifying his possible involvement in other criminal activities in Metro Manila.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 have been filed against the suspect, while the seized firearm was forwarded to the Southern Police District's forensic unit for ballistics examination.
