Known art collector Ronald Lauder was mentioned more than 900 times in the Jeffrey Epstein files released by the Department of Justice at the end of January.
Records suggest that Estée Lauder heir Ronald Lauder had multiple planned interactions with Jeffrey Epstein in 2017, mostly coordinated through their assistants, ARTnews reported.
While it is unclear how many meetings actually took place or what was discussed, emails and calendar entries indicate efforts to arrange calls, meals, and possible meetings with Epstein.
Documents point to shared interests in major artworks and possible co-ownership arrangements. It is also unclear whether proposed museum tours involving Epstein ever took place.
Lauder has not commented on the records, which place him among several prominent art collectors named in the Epstein files, though no direct wrongdoing by Lauder is alleged.
