President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday downplayed concerns over his recent health issue, saying he has resumed work and is moving ahead with a full slate of official duties despite medical advice to slow down.

In a video released by the Presidential Communications Office, Marcos said he has already presided over key meetings, including the 7th Economic and Development Council (EDC) meeting, signaling that government business continues uninterrupted.

“I was just given medication and I’m still on antibiotics. But I’m okay now. In fact, we already held the EDC meeting last Monday with most of the Cabinet,” the President said in Filipino.

Marcos acknowledged that his doctors advised him to take it easy but admitted he chose to return to work sooner.

“So I’m back in. My doctors are a bit upset with me because they told me not to rush it. But I told them I can’t just put everything on hold, so I went ahead,” he said.

He added that he is scheduled to attend more meetings in the coming days as he fully resumes office work.

“And tomorrow, I have some meetings in the office. And it will be continuous,” Marcos said.

The video, which also showed the President in a casual moment playing with the family dog, Oreo, appeared aimed at reassuring the public amid speculation over his health.

Marcos also shared that he has been cleared to eat solid food after several days on a liquid diet to reduce strain on his digestive system.

“I was on broth and soup only. I even dreamed one night that I was eating steak,” he said. “Now I’m allowed to eat. Earlier, I already had a hamburger.”

The President thanked the public for their concern, saying he received proper medical care and is ready to maintain his regular schedule.

“Thank you very much to everyone who has been concerned about my health and sent messages wishing me a speedy recovery,” Marcos said.
