Actress Claudine Barretto went live on social media in a highly charged broadcast, voicing fears over the safety of her children and making accusations against individuals she named during the stream.
Visibly distressed, Barretto claimed that her children had been taken without her consent and warned of legal action if they were not returned. She said she had reached out to authorities for assistance, explaining that her reaction was driven by panic and maternal instinct.
“I am a mother,” she said repeatedly, her voice shaking as she pleaded for her children’s safety. “You do anything bad to any of my children—magtago ka na.” (“You do anything bad to any of my children—hide yourself.”)
During the same livestream, Barretto directed angry remarks at her former husband, actor Raymart Santiago, linking him to her fear for her own safety. She alleged that the situation had escalated to the point where she felt threatened.
“Nanay ako ng mga anak mo. If anything happens to me, alam n’yo na kung sinu-sino ang gumagalaw,” she said. (“I am the mother of your children. If anything happens to me, you already know who is behind it.”) She later added, “Malalaki na ang mga anak ko—magkita tayo sa VAWC.” (“Our children are grown—see you in a VAWC case.”)
After the livestream, Barretto continued posting on Instagram, issuing warnings and saying she would pursue accountability. In one post, she wrote, “I AM A MOTHER!! ‘Yan ang pinakamali mong ginawa—‘wag ang mga anak ko!” (“I AM A MOTHER!! That was your biggest mistake—don’t involve my children!”) She also referred to feeling betrayed by someone she once trusted, adding that forgiveness had limits when it came to her children.
As of writing, those named in Barretto’s statements have not publicly responded. There has been no official confirmation from authorities regarding the claims raised in the livestream.
