Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon has ordered the immediate completion of road rehabilitation projects along MacArthur Highway in Barangay Sampaloc and the Santiago-San Vicente Road.
During a site inspection in Pampanga on Friday, Dizon directed the DPWH-Pampanga 1st District Engineering Office to expedite the work.
“We have to finish these before the rainy season,” Dizon said.
The project is targeted for completion within four months. Local officials, including Pampanga Vice Governor Dennis Pineda and Apalit Mayor Jun Tetangco, accompanied Dizon during the inspection.
Residents expressed relief over the repairs. Angelica Catian, a resident of Barangay Sampaloc, said the dilapidated roads and flooding have negatively impacted local livelihoods.
