DAVAO CITY — The Davao City Eagles Pickleball squad is tipped to go all out when it competes in the 2026 Philippine Pickleball League (PPL) Luzon Open set to start on 24 January in Kawit, Cavite.
Team manager Mark Villorante said they will do everything to make the province proud when they battle the best pickleball players from the country.
“We are proud to send Davao’s best pickleball players to the tournament and we are confident they can bring home medals,” Villorente said during the weekly Davao Sportswriters Association Forum on Thursday.
Villorente added that the team was formed after several local and regional tournaments in which these players showed their best performance and attitude.
Former tennis players John Roddick Litang along with Jan Robert Rosales Noblesa, Andre Sing, Bryle Sermese and Rey Anthony Byrd will banner the Eagles in their bid to reap honors in the individual and team events.
“We will do our best in the competition against the country’s best,” said Litang, a student at the University of Mindanao who serves as the Eagles’ team captain.
After the event in Kawit, the PPL will be staged in the Visayas and Mindanao regions with Davao hosting the second edition in March.
“The team is in good shape and ready for the tournament. We ask the Dabawenyos to support and cheer for them,” Villorente added.
