A suspect for statutory rape was arrested by personnel of the Taguig City Police Station in Barangay Upper Bicutan, Taguig City on Wednesday afternoon, 21 January.
The accused was identified as alias Shamir, 22, K9 handler, and a resident of Barangay Upper Bicutan, Taguig City.
The arrest was carried out by virtue of a warrant issued by Judge Desiree Gertrude Orquiola-Moldez of the Taguig City Regional Trial Court Branch 163 for two counts of statutory rape, with no bail recommended.
The arrest transpired while the accused was undergoing processing for the issuance of a National Police Clearance. During verification, it was confirmed that Shamir had an outstanding warrant of arrest. Personnel of Sub-Station 7, immediately effected the arrest.
The accused was brought to the Taguig City Health Office for medical examination before being turned over to the Warrant and Subpoena Section of the Taguig City Police Station for documentation and for the return of the warrant to the court of origin.
