Browsing films and shows to watch now feels closer: trailers and previews begin playing as soon as users land on the home screen of a streaming platform, making it easier to commit to a title without digging through tons of menus. Live sports and linear programing behave the same way, launching instantly into full-screen playback.

In 2026, Prime Video plans to expand mobile functionality even further, introducing faster ways to manage add-on subscriptions, adjustable playback speeds, and a mini-player that keeps video running while users move through the app. Live TV is also getting a makeover, with instant playback and personalized channels that begin streaming automatically based on viewing habits.

The year is packed with high-profile releases that span genres and audiences.

Early in 2026, Prime Video will debut 56 Days, a tense, eight-part adaptation of Catherine Ryan Howard’s novel, led by Dove Cameron and Avan Jogia.

February also brings the return of Cross for its second season, with Aldis Hodge reprising his role in the crime drama inspired by James Patterson’s books, as well as The CEO Club, a documentary series spotlighting influential figures such as Serena Williams, Thalia, and Winnie Harlow. Rounding out the month is Man on the Run, an intimate look at Paul McCartney’s life after The Beatles, directed by Oscar winner Morgan Neville.

March continues the momentum with Young Sherlock, a fresh take on the origins of the iconic detective from Guy Ritchie, featuring Hero Fiennes Tiffin alongside Colin Firth, Joseph Fiennes, and Natascha McElhone. That same month, crime fans can expect Scarpetta, a forensic thriller anchored by performances from Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis.

Spring marks a major moment for longtime viewers as The Boys returns for its fifth and final season in April, building toward a series-ending finale in May.

Later in the year, Prime Video will expand its genre offerings with Spider-Noir, a live-action Marvel series starring Nicolas Cage that will be available in both monochrome and color, and Love Me Love Me, a romantic drama adapted from a Wattpad sensation with a global fan base.
