Feeling wanderlust? Now may be a good time to plan that trip abroad.
The Philippine passport ranks 73rd in the 2026 Henley Passport Index, climbing two spots from the previous year. Mongolia is tied with the Philippines at the same rank.
For Filipino travelers, the ranking means visa-free access to 64 countries, making travel planning easier for destinations on the list. Travelers are still advised to check entry rules carefully, as some countries may require additional documentation such as an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA), a visa on arrival, or other permits before entry.
Singapore retained the top spot for 2026, offering visa-free travel to 192 destinations. Japan and South Korea followed closely at second place with access to 188 destinations. Third place was shared by Denmark, Luxembourg, Spain, Switzerland, and Sweden, whose citizens can travel visa-free to 186 countries.
The annual index evaluates 199 passports across 227 global destinations, ranking countries based on the strength of their passports along a global mobility spectrum. The index is compiled using data from International Air Transport Association, combined with ongoing research by Henley & Partners on visa policies and government regulations worldwide.
