Executive Secretary Ralph Recto on Monday dismissed speculation about an impending Cabinet revamp, saying there is no planned shake-up in the government body.
Recto said talk of an alleged Cabinet overhaul serves no constructive purpose and only distracts from the work of government.
“At present, there is no impending Cabinet shake-up. Speculation about a looming revamp does not serve any constructive purpose for the Government or the Filipino people,” Recto told Palace reporters in a Viber message.
He stressed that, as a matter of principle, all Cabinet members and presidential appointees serve at the pleasure of the President and are subject to regular performance reviews by the Office of the President.
Recto added that the administration remains focused on delivering services and implementing programs for the public, urging officials to stay on task amid unverified reports.
“As always, all appointees serve at the pleasure of the President, and their performance is subject to constant review,” he said. “Everyone should remain focused on their jobs for the good of our people.”
