Olongapo City, Zambales — The Olongapo City Police Office (OCPO) arrested a high-value drug suspect and seized an estimated P2.2 million worth of illegal drugs, along with firearms and ammunition, during a buy-bust operation at Katipunan Street, Barangay East Bajac-Bajac in this city on 8 January 2026.
According to a report from the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3), the operation formed part of the Philippine National Police’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs and led to the arrest of the suspect on Thursday night.
PRO3 Regional Director Police Brigadier General Rogelio Peñones said the operation was carried out by the Regional Special Operations Group 3–Regional Intelligence Division (RSOG3-RID), in coordination with OCPO Police Station 1. The units arrested the 34-year-old suspect at the target location.
Peñones said the operatives were implementing Search Warrant No. 2026-01, issued by Hon. Richard A. Paradeza, Executive Judge of the Regional Trial Court Branch 72 in Olongapo City, dated January 8, 2026. The implementation of the warrant resulted in the suspect’s arrest.
Seized during the operation were a black synthetic leather body bag; a .45 caliber pistol with Colt CAL .45 markings without a serial number; a .45 caliber magazine loaded with six live rounds; six additional .45 caliber live ammunition; a 9mm pistol without markings or serial number; a 9mm magazine loaded with eight Teflon-coated live rounds; eight additional Teflon-coated 9mm live ammunition; one fragmentation hand grenade; two .45 caliber live ammunition; one .38 caliber live ammunition; and six Teflon-coated 9mm live ammunition.
Police also confiscated suspected illegal drugs, including two transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu weighing approximately 305 grams with an estimated value of P2,079,440, and four transparent plastic sachets containing suspected Kush marijuana dried leaves weighing approximately 113 grams valued at P169,500.
Various drug paraphernalia were likewise seized during the operation.
“Arrested suspect and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to RSOG3 Office for proper disposition while complaints for violation of RA 10591, RA 9516 and RA 9165 are against the aforementioned suspect is being prepared,” Peñones said.
