Manila hospital welcomes New Year with two newborns
Two “New Year babies” were welcomed at Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital in Tayuman as 2026 began.
Twenty-five-year-old Sally Alburo of Cavite delivered her second child exactly at midnight on 1 January 2026. Just 10 seconds later, 21-year-old first-time mother Jennilyn Dalen gave birth to a baby girl, Zamara.
The hospital said it had prepared for the influx of patients, with a 12-bed capacity in its emergency room.
