A former mayor was arrested by authorities during a buy-bust operation at Barangay Calipahan in the town of Talavera, Nueva Ecija on Wednesday.
According to the Nueva Ecija Polive Provincial Office (NEPPO), the 53-year-old former mayor of Sto. Domingo was arrested after they found P476,000-worth of illegal drugs in his possession.
The former mayor served in his position from 2007-2010, and currently resides at Barangay Umangan, Aliaga, Nueva Ecija.
Confiscated from the suspect were the buy-bust money and five packets of shabu weighing 70 grams and have a total value of P476,000.
The former mayor sold a packet of shabu to an undercover agent worth P1,000.
