Although not a hard copy, electronic mail still uses up space and eventually fills up its limited storage capacity. A filled email inbox prevents the receiving and sending of messages, so it should be cleaned up to restore space and make it usable again.

Instagram (IG) user Hyosanggg was cleaning out his old email inbox when he stumbled upon an unread email dated six years ago. It was shocking enough that the email was from the prestigious Harvard University (HU), but more shocking was its message that he had been accepted into the top United States school when he applied in 2019.

Hyosanggg shared that he felt sad about missing the opportunity to study at HU but accepted his career as a musician.

“It was my dream school, so I wrote appeal letters and all, but I never heard back,” he said in the video post, which went viral with more than 2 million views, NDTV reported.

Meanwhile, a makeshift post office in the small town of Drobak in Norway has been receiving thousands of mails addressed to one person since 1990.

Its address of 1440 Drobak, which is part of the Christmas house run by locals as a tourist attraction, is regarded as the official residence of Santa Claus in Norway, so it receives letters from children and adults around the world asking St. Nick for a Christmas present or favor.

While the volume of letters received is overwhelming, there is really no Santa Claus who reads them, and even if there is, it is impractical to open each mail. Instead, volunteers from the small village maintain the post office and read some of the mails for display and appreciation by tourists.

The rest of the unopened letters are discarded and eventually shredded for recycling.
