Two diners who booked a visit to a hot pot restaurant in Hong Kong shared on social media their bad experience with its dining staff.
The diners availed of the 150-minute sukiyaki buffet promo at a Causeway Bay restaurant for HK$1,500, The Standard (TS) reported. They arrived at 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 9 and were expecting to leave at 4 p.m., but a staffer told them at 3:08 p.m. that they had to leave at 3:15.
Another restaurant staffer had told the diners upon their arrival that the last order was at 3 p.m. When the diners went to the self-serve area at 3 p.m., food, drinks, desserts and ice cream were no longer available, according to TS.
Also, a staff member supposedly told them: “You don’t know how to cook? You’ve made such a bad smell!” TS reported.
Meanwhile, a cruise company addressed an incident in a dining area of its ship, the Carnival Sunrise, when it was sailing in the Caribbean, People reported.
The incident was reported in a series of videos posted on Instagram by another ship passenger with the username @lucky_charmedcourt, according to People.
The videos that went viral showed a woman scratching her foot with a fork in the dining area.
Carnival Cruise Line (CCL) posted its response on Instagram, acknowledging the incident that was reported by @lucky_charmedcourt to its guest services.
“We can confirm that forks are intended for food, not foot care. Once we became aware of the situation, our team quickly addressed it with the guest and removed the utensil from the service,” CCL said, according to People.
In Carnival’s post, captioned “a message from us,” the cruise line emphasized that it took cleanliness and hygiene very seriously, People reported.
