Filipino Indian Commerce and Welfare Society (FICWS) continued its humanitarian efforts by conducting a medical and dental mission that benefited hundreds of residents in the local government unit of General Mariano Alvarez (GMA), Cavite, following the successful open-heart surgery of Baby Aviannalyn in Bengaluru, India.
In a Facebook post, Manjinder James Kumar, founder and president of the Filipino Indian Commerce and Welfare Society Inc., expressed gratitude to Atty. Roy M. Loyola, along with board members Ivee Reyes and Aidel Belamide, for their support in making the outreach activity successful.
Kumar said the organization was honored to sponsor the initiative, which provided free dental medicines for 100 beneficiaries, donated medicines for 600 adults and 300 pediatric patients, and distributed 25 wheelchairs to residents in need.
The donated supplies included vitamins, over-the-counter medicines, antibiotics, and maintenance drugs.
“Thank you as well to the LGU-GMA, the Barangay Captains, and the Carmona City Health Office for their invaluable cooperation and support,” Kumar said in his post.
He added that the collaboration among the private sector, local government, and the community reflects the spirit of service, compassion, unity, and bayanihan, noting that FICWS remains committed to uplifting lives through continued outreach programs.
Earlier, FICWS also extended assistance for the life-saving heart surgery of Baby Aviannalyn, who was born with a serious heart defect and required immediate medical intervention.
The child and her mother left the Philippines on 31 October 2025, and returned on 16 December 2025, after the successful procedure in India.
The humanitarian effort was made possible with the help of Rotarian Nischal Pandey, Charter President; Past District Governor Rtn. Rajendra Rai, managing trustee of the Rotary Needy Heart Foundation; Rtn. Bimal Desai of the Rotary Club of Bengaluru Midtown; and Rtn. Rajiv Srivastava, whose support helped ensure that Baby Aviannalyn received timely and critical care.
