The Philippine National Police (PNP) reminded 820 newly recruited police officers to maintain discipline and uphold the integrity of the organization as they begin their careers in law enforcement.

The recruits were selected under the Calendar Year 2025 Attrition Recruitment Program through the PNP’s Nameless and Faceless system.

They will be deployed to various National Support Units, including the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Drug Enforcement Group (DEG), Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine Group (EOD/K9), Special Action Force (SAF), Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG), Communications and Electronics Service (CES), Headquarters Support Services (HSS), and the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG).

In his message Saturday, PNP chief Lieutenant General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. stressed that decisions made during training can directly affect the recruits’ future in the service.

He warned against misconduct and emphasized the importance of discipline and focus throughout their training period.

The PNP chief also led the symbolic turnover of Salary ATM cards to the new recruits during the ceremony over the weekend, which he coincided with recent measures aimed at improving the welfare of uniformed personnel.

Earlier this month, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. signed Executive Order No. 107, approving an increase in base pay and allowances for military and uniformed personnel. The adjusted salary schedule will be implemented in phases, starting January 1, 2026, with further increases scheduled in 2027 and 2028.

Under the first phase, a Patrolman’s base pay will increase from P29,668.00 to P31,151.00, while the daily subsistence allowance will rise from P150.00 to P350.00, equivalent to P10,500.00 per month. With base pay, allowances, and other benefits combined, new recruits are expected to receive an estimated total gross monthly compensation of P44,821.00 starting January 2026.

Nartatez told the recruits that the improved compensation underscores the responsibility that comes with the profession, urging them to remain focused during training and comply with PNP standards as they prepare for active duty.

“With your increased pay and allowances, you have a great opportunity to build a stable and respected career. One wrong decision can jeopardize both your future and the benefits you’ve earned. Focus on training, uphold integrity, and make the most of this chance to serve the public with honor,” he said.
