LARK FREEPORT ZONE — The holiday season at Clark got a melodic boost as the first Clark Chorale Competition wrapped up at Nayon sa Clark on 23 December.

Organized by the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) Tourism Promotions Division, the event aimed to highlight Clark as a hub for culture-driven tourism while giving choirs a stage to shine.

Five groups from schools and community institutions participated in the inaugural competition, with preliminary rounds held on 16-17, 19, 21 and 22 December. The grand finale on the 23rd drew a crowd of music lovers eager to hear the best of choral talent.

CDC president and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera said the event reflects Clark’s commitment to nurturing creativity and cultural expression.

“What we are having right now is a symbol of the community that we are consciously developing here in Clark. A community of people,” she said.

A distinguished panel of judges included Chris Millado, former music director of the Cultural Center of the Philippines; Gildo Garcia of the Angeles University Foundation Concert Chorus; and professor Joseph Erwin Limpin of the Magnificat Seminary Choir.

When the final scores were tallied, Voce de Angeli emerged as champion, while Koro de Sto. Niño claimed first runner-up and Systems Plus College Foundation Glee Club took second runner-up honors. Consolation prizes went to Sta. Monica Parish Chamber Singers and Maestro del Musico.

The Clark Chorale Competition is part of CDC’s ongoing effort to support culture and the arts, positioning Clark not just as a tourist destination, but as a vibrant community where creativity thrives.
