A 57-year-old construction worker wanted for statutory rape and sexual assault was arrested Thursday afternoon in a manhunt operation in Pasig City.

The suspect, identified only by the alias “Onyok,” a resident of Barangay Pinagbuhatan, was classified by the Pasig City Police Station as a station-level top most wanted person.

Pasig police chief P/Col. Hendrix Mangaldan said the suspect was arrested by joint operatives of the San Miguel Police Sub-Station 6 and the Regional Intelligence Unit–National Capital Region (RIU-NCR) at around 4:45 p.m. along Apitong Street corner Eusebio Avenue, Barangay Pinagbuhatan.

The arrest was carried out by virtue of a warrant issued by the Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 159 for four counts of statutory rape, with no bail recommended, and sexual assault, with bail set at P200,000.

Mangaldan commended the operating units for the successful implementation of the warrant.

“This arrest underscores our station’s unwavering resolve to bring fugitives to justice and uphold public safety no matter how long it takes. We will continue to execute warrants with integrity and zero tolerance for sexual violence,” he said.
