ZARAGOZA, Nueva Ecija — Police uncovered a firearm and ammunition in Barangay Sta. Lucia Old during a search and retrieval operation on 19 December, thanks to a tip from a former Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) member who had voluntarily surrendered to authorities earlier this month.

The 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (1st PMFC) of the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office led the operation, joined by teams from Zaragoza, Licab, and Quezon municipal police stations, as well as the NEPPO-PIU and PIT NE-RIU3. Acting on the intelligence, the combined units recovered a .38-caliber revolver without markings and four rounds of .38 ammunition.

The recovered items are now in the custody of the 1st PMFC NEPPO Headquarters for proper documentation and disposition.

Police officials reminded residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to their nearest station, emphasizing that community tips play a key role in keeping neighborhoods safe.
