A 35-year-old nurse was killed Wednesday morning after the motorcycle she was riding lost balance and was run over by a modern jeepney along A. Bonifacio Avenue near Kabo Pio Street in Barangay Barangka, Marikina City.
Based on the investigation of the Marikina City Police Station, both vehicles were traveling along A. Bonifacio Avenue, with the modern jeepney in the outer lane and the motorcycle to its right.
Police said the motorcycle rider suddenly lost her balance and fell to the left, where she was run over by the rear wheel of the modern jeepney, sustaining severe injuries.
The victim was rushed by Marikina Rescue 161 to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, the 45-year-old driver of the modern jeepney is being held at the Marikina City Police Station custodial facility while facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and damage to property.
