The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) on Monday formed a special team of investigators to track the whereabouts of a bride-to-be who went missing days before her scheduled wedding.
QCPD Public Information Office chief said a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been created to assist in the case of Sherra De Juan, 30, whose disappearance was reported days ahead of her December 14 wedding.
“Special Investigation Team or SIT po is created to conduct investigation. BEST Practice po ng QCPD pag may mga incidents (na ganito) para mapabilis po pagresolve (ng case),” the QCPD official told Daily Tribune.
According to De Juan’s fiancé, Mark Arjay Reyes, she was last heard from on 10 December at around 1 p.m., when she sent a message saying she was on her way to Fairview Center Mall to buy the shoes she planned to wear on their wedding day.
Reyes said De Juan left her cellphone at home, where it was charging. The device has since been turned over to the police and is now in custody as part of the ongoing investigation.
In an effort to help locate his fiancée, Reyes has offered a P20,000 reward for any information that could lead to De Juan’s whereabouts.
The SIT will assist the Fairview Police Station, which remains the lead unit handling the investigation, as authorities continue to gather information and pursue possible leads.
