A doctor and his female companion were nabbed on Friday after allegedly duping a businessman in a cash-exchange incident at Parqal Building in Brgy. Tambo.
The suspects were identified as 36-year-old alias “Migs,” a Filipino-American doctor from Batasan Hills, Quezon City, and 51-year-old alias “Inkee,” a resident of Carmona, Cavite.
Initial investigation showed that businessman Christopher Aguilar, who filed the complaint, met the two suspects inside a room at the Parqal Building for a transaction involving P1M in exchange for USD 100,000. Authorities said Aguilar handed over the cash, and the suspects issued a written statement, but the dollar amount was not delivered.
When Aguilar demanded the return of his money from the two suspects, they allegedly failed to do so.
The incident was later reported to the Tambo Police Sub-station Friday at midnight, leading to the arrest of the two suspects. They are set to face an estafa complaint before the Parañaque City Police Station.
The P1 million has not been recovered as of writing.
