Thousands of non-teaching personnel from various regions gathered for this year’s National Congress at the Crown Legacy Hotel in Baguio City from 26 to 28 November.

The annual event, organized by the Department of Education–National Employees’ Union (DepEd-NEU), serves as a platform to discuss key issues and concerns affecting non-teaching staff nationwide.

Now in its 17th year, the national congress aims to strengthen the relationship, skills, and collective voice of non-teaching employees.

According to DepEd-NEU national president Atty. Domingo Alidon, the event combines a formal congress for policy-making and decision-making with workshops focused on the professional development of participants.

"The seminar-workshop is expected to last for three days, featuring a series of plenary sessions, breakout workshops, and consultation meetings," Alidon said.

Delegates arrived in a vibrant and organized fashion, many expressing gratitude for having a space where they could raise concerns, push for reforms, and strengthen their profession.

Recommendations and resolutions from the congress are expected to be released at the conclusion of the event.
