Comelec clears Chiz Escudero in campaign donation case

COMELEC Commissioner Rey Bulay explains to the media the department's Political Finance and Affairs Department's (PFAD) decision to clear Senator Chiz Escudero of the Section 95 of the Omnibus Election Code complaint, during a press conference in Manila on Wednesday, 26 November 2025. Bulay said the P30-million contribution made by Lawrence Lubiano to Escudero’s 2022 senatorial campaign was a personal donation and did not violate campaign finance rules.
