Abra nears North crown

Abra foiled Pangasinan’s last assault to prevail, 65-59, and move a win away from clinching the North Division crown in the 747. LIVE presents Manny Pacquiao Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League 2025 Season at the Gov. Andres B. Bernos Memorial Gym in Bangued, Abra on Friday.

Pangasinan closed in, 59-64, but Abra held the fort to post a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five series.

Unable to find his range, Dave Ildefonso persevered to post 11 points, 15 rebounds, two steals, two assists and two blocks and earn the Best Player honors for the Weavers, who extended their record winning streak to 32.

Mike Ayonayon supported Ildefonso with 12 points and four rebounds, followed by Raven Gonzales with 11 points and three rebounds, and Marwin Taywan with eight points, four assists and two rebounds.

Abra will shoot for a 3-0 sweep on Thursday in Pangasinan.

Pangasinan drew 14 points, highlighted by three triples in the fourth quarter, from Jorey Napoles, 13 points and six rebounds from Vic Manuel, and 11 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals from Mike Digregorio.
