Some P133 million worth of suspected cocaine were discovered along the coastal area of Linapacan, Palawan on 18 November 2025.
According to the Philippine National Police (PNP), a resident of Barangay Maroyog-royog called authorities at around 6:00 p.m. after finding packets of suspected illegal drugs floating off the coast of Sitio Calelenday.
The informant, identified only as “Benjo,” immediately alerted police, prompting personnel from the Linapacan Municipal Police Station, the Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Unit, and the Provincial Intelligence Unit to respond to the area.
Upon arrival, police found several boxes wrapped in black tape and marked “STONE” scattered along the shoreline. The recovered items were estimated to weigh 25,210 grams and carry a standard drug value of P133,613,000.
Acting PNP Chief Police Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. lauded both the community and responding officers for their swift action, stressing the importance of citizen participation in preventing crime.
“Napakahalaga ng papel ng mamamayan dito. Isang tawag lang, at agad nating napigilan na ang ganito kalaking halaga ng droga ay makasira pa ng buhay. Ganito gumagana ang pulisiya kapag may malinaw na ugnayan at mabilis na aksyon,” he said.
The seized suspected cocaine is currently under the custody of the Palawan Provincial Forensic Unit and will be turned over to the PDEA Palawan Office for proper processing and documentation.
