Two CTG members surrender, arms cache seized in Bulacan

Two Two members of a communist terrorist group (CTG) surrendered while an arms cache was seized after a joint Law Enforcement Support Operation (LESO) held at Sitio Macua, Brgy. Kabayunan in the town of Doña Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan on 13 November.

The Joint Task Group (JTG) 7-2, under the leadership of Brigadier General Eugenio Julio C. Osias IV, Philippine Army, and Commander of the 703rd Infantry (Agila) Brigade conducted the joint LESO headed by 70IB under the leadership of LtCol Ryan Cayton.

The coordinated operation, conducted in partnership with various military units and law enforcement agencies, resulted in the voluntary surrender of two members of Communist Terrorist Group.

The operation also led to the capture of an arms cache, composed of:

• One M653 rifle with defaced serial number

• One M16A1 rifle with defaced serial number

• Two short alloy magazines for M16

• 37 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition

Brigadier General Osias commended the efforts of the operating troops and partner agencies, underscoring that the successful surrender of these personalities and the seizure of high-powered firearms deal a substantial blow to the remnants of lawless groups still attempting to operate in the area.

“This operation demonstrates our unwavering commitment to eliminating threats to peace and security. The continued cooperation of our communities and partner agencies plays a crucial role in sustaining stability across the province,” BGen Osias, emphasized.

The 703rd Infantry (Agila) Brigade remains steadfast in its mission to safeguard communities and support ongoing peace efforts in close coordination with local governments, and various law enforcement units.
