The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is conducting round-the-clock clearing operations on 30 national road sections in Luzon and Mindanao that remain impassable due to landslides, flooding, and storm surges brought by Super Typhoon Uwan.
The agency advised motorists to take alternate routes while clearing and safety assessments are ongoing.
As of 12:00 p.m. on 10 November, the road closures include major routes across the Cordillera Administrative Region, National Capital Region, Regions 1, 2, 3, 5, and Region 12. The closures were caused by soil and rock collapses, uprooted trees, mudflow, high water levels, damaged detour roads, and scoured shoulders.
One road section in NCR — C-4 Road at the corner of M. Naval Street — remains affected by flooding.
In Region 1, parts of the Pangasinan–Nueva Vizcaya Road are closed due to toppled electric poles. In Region 2, several key overflow bridges in Cagayan and Isabela are not passable due to high water elevation. Multiple roads in Aurora and Nueva Ecija in Region 3 are also closed due to landslide debris and damaged detours.
In Region 5, flooding and uprooted trees rendered portions of the Maharlika Highway and several provincial roads in Camarines Sur and Catanduanes impassable. Meanwhile, in Region 12, landslide and mudflow blocked the SNA–Lebak–Kalamansig Road in Sultan Kudarat.
The DPWH also released an advisory on partially passable roads, where access is limited to either heavy or light vehicles depending on the extent of damage and flooding.
Clearing crews, heavy equipment, and response teams have been deployed to all affected sites, the agency said.
