Budget airline Cebu Pacific (CEB) has added a new A320neo aircraft to its fleet to meet higher passenger demand during the holiday season.
The company said over the weekend that the narrowbody jet — the airline’s first A320neo and fourth aircraft delivery this year — arrived in Manila from Airbus’ facility in Toulouse, France. It followed the delivery of three Airbus A330neo aircraft earlier this year.
“This latest delivery helps ensure we have enough capacity to serve passengers looking to fly home or discover new destinations this holiday season,” CEB president and chief commercial officer Xander Lao said.
“We’re committed to making travel more accessible and convenient, especially during this time of year when more Filipinos take to the skies,” he added.
3 new aircraft inbound
The Gokongwei-led air carrier said the aircraft will be deployed on regional routes to support CEB’s domestic and international network. Likewise, it expects three more aircraft deliveries in the coming months as part of its fleet modernization program.
The A330neo gives the carrier greater flexibility to serve regional and long-haul routes, as well as high-demand domestic sectors.
With higher seating capacity and improved fuel efficiency, the aircraft helps CEB optimize operations while maintaining cost discipline.
Notably, Airbus’ NEO series burns 15 percent less fuel per flight and produces lower noise levels than older models, resulting in reduced carbon emissions.
