Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Acting Director P/Col. Randy Glenn Silvio on Saturday reported the recovery of a stolen Silver Mica Metallic 2025 Toyota Veloz by the District Anti-Carnapping Unit (DACU) in an open parking area along Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard in Pasay City recently.
According to the report, the vehicle’s owner sought assistance from DACU after his Toyota Veloz was not returned as agreed under a contract with a man identified as August Villanueva on 3 September 2025 at the Ali Mall parking lot in Cubao, Quezon City.
The owner later informed authorities that the vehicle had been spotted at Double Dragon Plaza in Pasay City.
Acting on the report, DACU operatives coordinated with the Pasay City Police Station and immediately went to the location to verify the information. The vehicle was found unattended, and witnesses told police it had been parked in the area since the last week of October.
The vehicle was secured and brought to the QCPD headquarters for investigation and proper disposition. A case for violation of Republic Act 10883, or the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016, has been filed against Villanueva before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
Silvio reaffirmed the QCPD’s commitment to public safety and the swift prosecution of car theft cases.
“The QCPD reiterates its commitment to public safety and to bringing perpetrators of carnapping to justice,” Silvio said.
“The public is also reminded to verify all agreements and transactions when buying or selling vehicles and to report any suspicious activities immediately to authorities or by calling E911 or the QC Helpline 122,” he added.
Through public cooperation, crimes can be prevented, ensuring the safety of the public, Silvio said.
