Pet-ty cash

A Chinese man had entrusted more than one million yuan of his savings to his fiancee to give her a sense of security for living with him in Chongqing.
The man, surnamed Jin, was shocked one day when he asked Min for 200,000 yuan from his money to settle a cash flow issue but he was told that she had spent it all on cosmetic procedures, South China Morning Post (SCMP) reports.
At the suggestion of her friend Li, who co-owns a beauty clinic, Min underwent liposuction, lip enhancement, neck lines removal, etc. Li reportedly overcharged Min by 900,000 yuan such that her 120,000 bill at the former’s Fubiweifu Medical Beauty Clinic ballooned to more than one million yuan, according to SCMP.
Min offered to sell her car and Li promised to return 560,000 yuan to the couple to help solve Jin’s financial problem. Jin and Min overcame the issue and continued their relationship.
Meanwhile, a Turkish couple divorced after two years and agreed to monetary support despite having no children.
The man, identified as Bugra, will compensate his former partner, Ezgi, 550,000 liras (US$13,000), SCMP reports, citing Turkish media outlet Yenisafak.
Bugra also agreed to pay his ex-wife of two years 10,000 liras (US$240) every quarter for the next 10 years to support their two cats, according to SCMP. The money will be used to pay for the pets’ food, vaccinations and other expenses.
The payments, based on a cat’s average 15-year lifespan, will be adjusted annually for inflation and will cease once the pets die, SCMP adds.
In Turkey, people who abandon their pets with a microchip that identifies their owners can be fined up to 60,000 liras (US$1,400), according to SCMP.
