Typhoon Tino has disrupted power in the Visayas, leaving a total of seven 69-kilovolt (kV) lines, two 138-kV lines, and one 230-kV line offline, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) reported Wednesday morning.
The affected 69-kV lines include Maasin-Baybay, Ormoc-San Isidro, Ormoc-Baybay, Calongcalong-Asturias, Compostela-Consolacion, Bacolod-San Enrique, and San Jose-Bugasong.
Customers impacted by the outages are those served by Leyte Electric Cooperative IV, Dongon Rural Electric Cooperative, Southern Leyte Electric Cooperative, Leyte Electric Cooperative III, Leyte Electric Cooperative V, Biliran Electric Cooperative, Cebu Electric Cooperative II and III, Negros Electric Power Cooperative, Northern Cebu Electric Cooperative, and Antique Electric Cooperative.
“NGCP has mobilized its line crews and is currently conducting patrols. Simultaneous restoration activities are also being conducted in areas already accessible,” the transmission operator said.
The utility noted that power losses may stem from disruptions to either transmission facilities or local distribution networks, with affected cities and municipalities determined by the respective electric cooperatives.
