The province of Pampanga registered a 5.1 percent increase in its gross domestic product (GDP) from 2023 to 2024, according to data released by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
PSA reported that Pampanga’s GDP rose from P566.13 billion in 2023 to P595.36 billion in 2024. While the growth rate was slightly slower than the 6.5 percent posted the previous year, the agency said it still reflected sustained economic expansion across key sectors — particularly in services and construction.
Meanwhile, Angeles City’s economy grew by 6.9 percent in 2024, down from 7.5 percent in 2023. Its GDP climbed to P151.47 billion from P141.75 billion, driven mainly by the city’s vibrant services industry and strong construction activities.
Among Pampanga’s fastest-growing industries were financial and insurance activities, which surged by 19.4 percent, followed by construction at 15.8 percent, and human health and social work activities at 11.4 percent. Other notable contributors included transportation and storage (10.7 percent), public administration and defense (10.2 percent), and other services (9.8 percent).
In contrast, the agriculture, forestry, and fishing sector posted a modest growth of 2.9 percent, reflecting ongoing challenges in primary production.
Overall, PSA said Pampanga’s steady economic performance underscores its role as one of Central Luzon’s leading growth centers, supported by its expanding infrastructure, business investments, and service-driven economy.
