The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has canceled the registration of ABA Global Philippines Inc., which operated under the trade name COEX Star, effectively barring it from offering remittance and virtual asset services in the country.
In a statement, the BSP said the Monetary Board, through Resolution No. 928 dated 18 September 2025, affirmed with finality the decision to cancel the company’s Certificate of Registration to operate as a Remittance and Transfer Company with a Type “B” Remittance Agent with Virtual Currency Exchange service — now referred to as a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP).
The cancellation was made pursuant to Section 902-N, in relation to Section 901-N, of the Manual of Regulations for Non-Bank Financial Institutions.
As a result, ABA Global Philippines is no longer authorized to engage in remittance and virtual currency-related transactions.
The BSP reiterated that only registered remittance and transfer companies and VASPs are allowed to provide such services, emphasizing the central bank’s ongoing efforts to safeguard consumer protection and uphold the integrity of the country’s financial system.
