Marcos leads first government-initiated housing expo under his term

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Thursday led the opening of the first government-initiated housing expo under his administration at the World Trade Center, gathering the country’s top private developers and thousands of prospective homebuyers.

The National Housing Expo 2025, organized by the Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG Fund) — an attached agency of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) — was one of the highlights of this year’s National Shelter Month, spearheaded by the DHSUD.

“This is also in furtherance of President Marcos Jr.'s push for safer, decent, and dignified government housing under the flagship Expanded 4PH,” DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling said.

The expo aims to further accelerate the nationwide rollout of the administration’s Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program, benefitting more Filipino families.

The President led the ceremonial awarding of Certificates of Entitlement (COEs) and titles to beneficiaries of various government housing programs, including rental housing, the Enhanced Community Mortgage Program, Pag-IBIG subsidized rates under the Expanded 4PH, and housing covered by Presidential Proclamations.

More than 50 private developers participated in the two-day expo, showcasing projects and mock-up model units to attract homebuyers.

The event featured all modalities under the 4PH Program. The National Housing Authority showcased its rental housing models; the Social Housing Finance Corporation highlighted its Enhanced Community Mortgage Program; and the National Home Mortgage Finance Corporation promoted its online housing fair.

According to Pag-IBIG Fund, around 30,000 potential homebuyers registered online for the event. Over 100,000 brand-new homes were offered through Pag-IBIG Housing Loans, while more than 30,000 Pag-IBIG Acquired Assets were available at discounts of up to 40 percent.

“The National Housing Expo stands as a landmark initiative that unites and brings together the entire housing sector—both government agencies and private institutions—in fulfillment of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to ensure that every Filipino family has access to affordable and decent housing,” Aliling said.

“As part of our National Shelter Month activities this October, we are also holding regional housing fairs in Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Iloilo, Pampanga, Bacolod, Batangas, and General Santos. These events, along with this Expo in Metro Manila, form part of our nationwide push to bring the Expanded 4PH Program closer to Filipino families,” he added.

At the expo, visitors viewed housing exhibits from Metro Manila and nearby provinces. A key feature of the event was the on-the-spot assessment of Pag-IBIG Housing Loan eligibility, helping attendees determine which properties they could afford under the agency’s loan programs. Pag-IBIG representatives were also on-site to provide assistance and conduct learning sessions.

“Isa na naman po itong innovation sa housing industry — sanib pwersa ang gobyerno at pribadong sektor sa pagsusulong sa hangarin ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. para sa ligtas, disente, abot kaya at may dignidad na pabahay para sa pamilyang Pilipino,” Aliling said.
