The Province of Nueva Ecija began construction of a Drying System I facility on 3 October 2025, in Barangay Tabacao, Talavera.

The project, led by the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PhilMech), is set to benefit the Nagkakaisang Magsasaka Agricultural Primary Multi-Purpose Cooperative upon completion.

The facility features a 390-square-meter shed with a budget allocation of ₱5.38 million. It will include a warehouse, receiving and loading dock, dust collection room, generator set area, and storage space for drying equipment.

The project falls under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Mechanization Program, which aims to boost farmers’ productivity, improve palay quality, and enhance their skills in rice production.
