The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has collected P25.4 billion in revenues from January to September this year, an achievement that outgoing LTO chief Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II hailed Friday as proof that the agency is on track to meet its all-time high collection goal for the year.
Mendoza, who is stepping down from his post after more than two years, said the nine-month revenue figure proves that the P34 billion target he set for 2025 following policy reforms is “doable and currently on the right track.”
“This achievement is a vindication of what we fought for last year,” Mendoza said. “With this collection rate, we are on the right track of achieving the revenue collection target for 2025, which will be the highest in LTO history.”
As of 30 September, LTO data showed a collection of P25,469,343,321.16, representing about 75 percent of the full-year target. The LTO Central Office has already surpassed its entire 2025 target of P906 million, collecting P1.4 billion as of the end of September. Mendoza expressed confidence that all regional offices would meet their respective goals in the remaining three months of the year.
He stressed the importance of the revenue, which is used for various government services and programs under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s Bagong Pilipinas initiative.
“The job is not yet done, we still have P8 billion to collect and with your dedication and cooperation, we will achieve this goal together,” he told LTO personnel.
Mendoza’s statement on the revenue achievement came as he expressed gratitude to Marcos for his trust, confirming his exit from the agency.
