Chowking brings flavor and fun to the track for its 40th year

Paulo Avelino, Kim Chiu, Darren Espanto, and P-pop groups BGYO and KAIA are lacing up for a weekend of food, fun, and fitness as Chowking celebrates its 40th year with the first-ever Chow Fun Run 2025 happening on 11 October at the SM Mall of Asia Complex.

More than just a race, the event brings together the Filipino love for food, movement, and togetherness. It’s a fitting tribute to four decades of Sarap Mag-Chow, a legacy built on shared meals, family bonding, and moments of joy.

The press launch, held in partnership with Hyvesports, gathered Chowking executives, ambassadors, members of the media, and running enthusiasts to reveal what awaits runners at the milestone celebration.

Chowking Vice President and Head of Marketing Jia Du shared that the run represents the brand’s journey through the years. “The Chow Fun Run was chosen as the anniversary event because a run represents Chowking’s 40-year journey of moving forward, celebrating growth, progress, and the joy of creating shared memories along the way,” she said.

During the launch, Du also hinted at what participants can expect at the post-run festival, Chow Fun Land, and confirmed that there may be more Chowking favorites returning soon after the success of the braised beef comeback.

Hyvesports founder Justine Em-Cordero described the event as a celebration more than a competition. “While most races focus on records and winning, this run highlights celebration with family and friends,” she said.

The Chow Fun Run offers inclusive categories such as the 1K Kiddie Run, 5K, 10K, and a Virtual Run for participants joining from afar. Exclusive race kits include limited-edition shirts inspired by Chowking favorites, collectible plushies, and special finisher’s medals.

At the finish line, runners can refuel with classic Chowking dishes like Chao Fan, Siomai, and Halo-Halo while enjoying surprises and entertainment at Chow Fun Land. It’s set to be a morning of energy, laughter, and delicious memories as Chowking marks 40 flavorful years on the move.
