The Bulacan Medical Center (BMC) formally opened its new magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) facility at the hospital’s Department of Radiology on 9 October 2025.
BMC is the province’s only tertiary state-owned hospital and serves as the primary referral center for complex cases. Located in Malolos City, it also functions as a teaching and training hospital.
Originally established as the Bulacan Provincial Hospital with a 25-bed capacity, BMC has since expanded under the provincial government. It now operates with a 300-bed capacity and offers departmentalized services.
Dr. Alberto D. Gabriel, head of the Department of Radiology, said the MRI machine is primarily used for scanning the brain, spine, knees, muscles, and abdomen. He said the facility is expected to serve eight to 10 patients per day and will operate from Mondays to Sundays.
